2-1/2″ abs plastic duct hose tube. This tube is great for extending the vent hose from the evaporator to the dash louvers. The tube is 36 inches long but can be cut down to any size to suit the application. The tube is designed for two things: First it will move air over a long span without losing vent pressure, and second it will not crush down like flexible duct hose. The tubing can be run across the inside of a dash, along the transmission tunnel, or along the pillars to the headliner. This tube is a great way to add vents to any remote location. The tube is oval shaped that fits our 2.5″ duct hose over it. The tube gets connected to the evaporator or any vent (louver) with 2.5″ vent (duct) hose. The duct hose can be held on with duct tape or screws.
The tube is made out of 1/8″ abs plastic that is designed with an overlapping assembly. This guarantees no air leaks. For maximum efficiency the tubing can be covered with firewall insulation. This will ensure the cold air stays cold, and the hot air stays out.
The tubing dimension is:
36 inches long
3-3/16 inches wide
1-7/16 inches tall
These dimensions are the tube only, when the duct hose is added at each end it will increase the size.
We designed these tubes for a project in our facility to route airflow through the headliner of a vehicle. They worked very well without the loss of airflow and vent temperature. Insulating the tube will ensure better performance, (we do not sell insulation).
